The very beautiful Mont Saint Michel, the second most popular tourist destination in France. The Mont is actually an island situated around 1 kilometer from the shore. It is joined to the northern French coast by a causeway, soon to be replaced by a ferry system. You will find hotels very easily in this region because there are plenty on the approach road to the Mont. They are expensive hotels though, for something cheaper venture inland by a few Kilometers.
